Monday Insights: Why?

fantasy2Sometimes I sit back, consider what I’m doing or about to do and ask myself why?

A large part of our lives is spent just going through the motions and if we took moments and really thought about our actions, many we’d simply avoid, especially if we realise they don’t make us happy.

Of course there are the base things we do like eating, showering, etc, I’m talking about other things like: Why are you taking that trip to ‘wherever’, why are you buying that house you hate, why are you marrying that person you don’t love?

fantasy1I know, I know, some of you are probably rolling your eyes thinking — “It’s not always that easy to just not do these things Jackie!” Guess what, I agree with you. There are tons of things I have done in my life that I didn’t really want to and may be many more before my time’s up. However, I feel like when we take a moment and really consider the reasons we’re set on doing many of the things we do, it becomes easier to abandon those things that don’t bring us joy, or don’t help us in any real way.

fantasy2Lovely readers, I wouldn’t sit here and say that life is a piece of cake, cause it isn’t. We have to make so many important and tough decisions, sometimes on a daily basis, that it can get pretty tough. Why then, wouldn’t we want to make it easier for ourselves? Why not take more time to think about major decisions, to figure out if they are going to add points to our positive path? We must take time to ask why :).

  1. Well said, I often find myself jumping from one action to another, but a little reflection or thought might be the next best thing. Thanks!
