Friday Highlights 114

fantasy1I’ve been split between shows this week, as no one series was really holding my attention. Still pleased with Supernatural seemingly coming back to its roots, meaning I can actually enjoy it again. Sure Sam (Jared Paledecki) still isn’t my favourite, however, Dean (Jensen Ackles) is really coming back into his own in season 10 and the character’s just one of the elements that’s reminding me why I loved watching it before. The Originals is also going strong in season 2 and I have quite literally crushed The Vampire Diaries (TVD) under my boot in favour of this spin-off. I used to like TVD before, but in later seasons started growing wary of it. With the former series, I love that it’s not so focused on romance, the driving forces behind most of the characters are more believable and overall, it’s simply less vapid. Plus, the dialogue, especially between the originals, generally makes me smile — love the nods to old English here and there.

Besides watching various shows I’ve been . . .

Quickdates
fantasy11) Bombarding my mum about the direction of The Wardens Series (season 2). Well not really, but my friend who recently passed was my main sounding board for my writing and without him, there is a void where this (and of course many other things) are concerned. Either way, mum has been sweet enough to let me talk her ear off as I was trying to figure out the direction of the five newest short stories in the series. The main characters Erin and Zach face tons of crazy this time round as well, so new readers and diehard fans of the supernatural series should enjoy where its headed ^_^.

2) Dealing with some issues on the personal front. I try not to let things get to me too much as in the end it often doesn’t make any sense. I think about the fact that most of what worries now will not matter a year from now and as my friend used to say “less time”, for any unnecessary drama and silliness.

fantasy13) Making sure my ducks are in their rows for December promotions, including the return of the #JackieJones #RTHour on Twitter. It’s been going since February, but I took a break in November for various reasons, including that I wanted to change the format a bit. One of the major changes is that instead of happening on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, the #RTHour will be on two days: Tuesdays and Thursdays, leaving Sunday open for a new promotional activity coming in January 2015 :). 1. I watched the first season of Supernatural, and I really liked it. Even though I enjoyed it, it wasn’t one of those shows where I was rushing to watch the next episode, so I haven’t even started on the second season. I need to get on that.

    1. It’s a great show, but (to me) loses its way around season 6 – 9. As I said in the post though, seems to be making a storyline comeback ^_^.

      Have a great weekend :)!
