Underrated Australian show of the year goes to *drum roll* Puberty Blues! “A story about a nation growing up.” It was like reading a good book as I watched the two seasons of that show over the course of two days. I wasn’t sleeping much and decided to get into it, which resulted in me loving the teen drama that is great not just for teens but adults as well. One of the reasons adults will probably love it too, is because it’s set in 70s and the culture is probably rather different from what would be seen today. The series was based on the novel of the same name by Gabrielle Carey and Kathy Lette and I have to say that after watching, I look forward to reading about the characters in more detail. As for the television series, sure they’re a few loose ends, a couple nonsensical hiccups along the way, but overall, watching the transformation of the main characters and their parents, viewing family life and the varying ways people lived together and, the ideas the teens had about sex and love, all I can say in the end is if this is your cup of tea, don’t pass it up :).
Additionally I’ve been . . .
1) Editing, adding and taking things out of my epic fantasy WIP. It’s been a crazy process from the beginning and I can’t wait to do the final read through before starting to shop it to agents and publishers. Yes, if I hadn’t mentioned before, this is one of the books I decided I didn’t want to self-publish right now and would rather give it a chance with traditional options.
2) Online magazine interview coming up soon, so will keep you guys posted on that as well.
3) Ate some gluten products this week and paying for it now as my body has felt a little off since then. Note to selves: When mum says she’s baking lamb bread (Bread with cuts of lamb, herbs and spices in the middle) don’t get greedy if you’re on a gluten-free diet. Bake your own alternative. Don’t be like me haha.
That’s all for today lovely readers! Have a great weekend and be safe, happy and share the good vibes with others ^_^!
