The same way we allow ourselves to give into feelings of sadness, pain and hurt, we can decide to be happy.
It doesn’t come easy at first, nor is it a walk in the park when things aren’t going exactly as we’d like. Despite all this, the fact remains that it is up to us and us alone to become happier people. Another person, TV show, pet, *insert things that make you smile here*, might help for a short time, but that’s all. In order to be truly happy, to really hold onto it as a base emotion, we have to make the choice.
