Monday Insights: What Would You Do?

If this was your last day, week, month or year on Earth, what would you do?

What does that mean for you?
What does that mean for you?

This is a question that’s been asked numerous times, in various ways, but only recently did I begin to really consider all it means. I gave my life a hard look, thought about the things I didn’t like about it and realised I’d walk away from at least a couple things if I knew this was my last go around. The truth is though, most of us – including me – feel like we have time waiting around for us, like, we’ll be able to do all we want to and not have to worry about the possibility of it being snatched away in a flash.

Readers, I’m not trying to be morbid, I just want you to join me in trying to live life fully. Even if we won’t leave our jobs, travel the world, bungee jump or cross off the last five things on our bucket lists right away, it doesn’t mean we can’t approach what’s wrong in our lives differently. Try to change or fix the problems, try to feel good even when the storms hit. And, one day, that day when we’re feeling courageous enough, when we’re no longer worried about ‘what will happen if I do what I really want to’, we’ll see the doors open, ushering in a new era of our lives.

  1. Having faced the possibility before I know what I asked for and what I received. Not much changes in what I believe is important, the opportunity to reach out to those I love and tell them what they mean to me.

  2. Great post/point, I had the same feeling on Saturday when I was watching “Battleship”. These alien machines started tearing up this office and I was horrified to think that my last day on earth could be spent at this desk. No offense to anyone who likes their desk job but I’d personally like to be doing more in a very different field. Gotta make it happen!

    1. That’s a truly horrible image, funny enough I’ve had it before but with tidal waves as my office is so close to the ocean. Ugh! Yes, must change that and become free range humans :)!
