Random Wednesdays: Dark Fantasy Calling

My first release, the YA paranormal/fantasy Secrets of the Tenari, will hit virtual shelves in April 2013. Otherwise, I’m always working on new stories, especially series :). Here’s a small snippet from chapter 1 of a horribly titled currently unnamed dark fantasy WIP.

~ The screams that invaded Aeshma’s mind on the quiet street were like music. She could hear them beg as they were forced out of the body they had inhabited, but she was relentless. This was not the time to show mercy, especially for those who had so willingly decided to fight her. Who, in their terrified state at the prospect of eternal prison, had forgotten to be loyal. She’d heard the screamed name of the one who had ordered her death. Heard it just before the demons were nothing more than wisps in the wind and their voices had stopped. Aeshma smiled. ~

  1. Looking forward to reading your upcoming book. I’ll be watching for the release date. This little snippet of your new work sounds interesting. Keep us posted! šŸ™‚

      1. Been some changes in my plans lately. I got a new proofreader, and he is convincing me that I need to put The Enduring through another editing wringer, and it will end up placed at a publisher he and his boss have in mind. So, my self-pub date of March 1 isn’t going to happen.

I will be working on that, as well as getting the second installment written. The publisher is going to like the idea of the whole trilogy being ready to go, so I’ll try to make that happen.

I was real excited about being in print, but I guess this isn’t a game for impatient people. ~stepping back, taking a deep breath~

      2. Oh wow, that’s so great Laura! I know it must be a bit much after you’ve been so hyped and ready to go, but the plus side is you don’t have to go at it alone (with self-publishing). Not saying self-publishing can’t be great – I’m a new convert, but let’s face it, a little help/push from the right sources goes a long way.

You’ll do great and I will be one of the first waiting for it to come out ^_^.
