I Hate It, But I Love It . . .

Like this ab workout, social networking and I have a love hate relationship . . .

I always remember that line from the P90X ab workout, when the host talks about not liking to do abs, but doing them anyway because of the results. In earlier posts I’ve spoken about my social networking issues, so I won’t complain too much today. What I will say is this, the title line of this post is probably best suited to my feelings about the activity.

It’s not that I mind it so much (when there’s time), but take for example last night. Around 6 pm I decided  to revamp my blog page. Now it had been my intention to write initially, but I was kind of like ‘it won’t take very long’. Nearly three hours later I was still hemming and hawing over design etc, just because I want my page to be more appealing to readers. See — social networking. As I’ve lamented before, it can take up so much time, but it’s really great because it’s an incredible asset for anyone trying to push well, anything really.

I still ended up doing some actual writing late last night (yay!), but the hours spent fussing and focusing on my blog made me realise something. I have to set aside time especially for social networking. Maybe I’ve said it here before (don’t remember), but I don’t really stick to it. If I can dedicate some time to it each day, I can not only stay on top of the emails that flood in from those I follow and otherwise, but I can also maintain a ‘healthier relationship’ with those that follow me and are interested enough to stop by and see what I have to say, on any site that I’m a member of.

Anyway guys, the worm has been caught and as such, I’m getting to work. Have great weekends and, how do you handle social networking?
