See You On The Other Side…

I’ve been letting work get in the way of literary progress…

I recently had to sit up and ask myself (all in my head of course), “What the hell are you doing?!”. I’ve not been making proper time to blog either because well, this blog is supposed to be about progress and I’ve not been doing anything much to facilitate that – *insert tortured scream here*.

Okay, so now that the screaming at myself is over, here’s what I decided: I’m going to get back to the second edit (no I didn’t finish it) tomorrow – YES tomorrow and I’m taking two weeks off work in about a week, so I can start working on part two of the YA fantasy. The great thing is that as long as I screw my head on right I’m pretty much good to go, it’s when I take too long a break – like the last two weeks or so, that things go haywire.

I fully understand the importance of work, I’ve mentioned it before, how it does little things like paying bills, stocking my fridge and so on, however, my writing is more important and where I want to go trumps all that. As such, you can call me on it if I come back here writing ‘ish’ about not moving forward and working to achieve my goals. As of right now, I’m getting back on track. I’m going to be an international bestseller, that’s the dream that fuels many of the others I have and I won’t see any of them come to light if I’m either devoting too much time to things that don’t contribute to this goal, or sitting around deciding to ‘do it tomorrow’.

That said, see you all on the other side…
